Zoning Board of Appeals
Mission Statement
The Board of Appeals is statutorily authorized to:
- Hear and decide appeals by any person aggrieved by any order or decision of the Building Commissioner or other administrative official in violation of MGL c.40A.
- Hear and decide certain applications for Special Permits.
- Hear and decide applications for Findings of Fact concerning the extension of alteration of certain nonconforming uses or structures.
- Hear and decide certain petitions for use and dimensional variances.
- Issue comprehensive permits for construction of low- or moderate-income housing, upon determination that such construction would be consistent with local needs.
