Green Advisory Committee

The mission of the Green Advisory Committee is to help advance Merrimac toward a clean energy future. We will do this by:

• Proposing programs and projects to the Select Board that improve municipal building efficiency and reduce the town’s use of fossil fuels
• Supporting the Merrimac Light Department in its efforts to increase energy efficiency and reduce the town’s carbon footprint
• Educating and being a resource for residents about the habits and resources that will lead to less energy consumption and lower environmental impact
• Serving as a liaison between town agencies and the residents
• Assisting in identifying and accessing grants to advance these efforts.

The Committee may also address other environmental or sustainability issues as opportunities and needs arise.
