Conservation Commission


As of January 1, 2025 the Merrimac Conservation Commission meets regularly on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Merrimac Public Library in the Library Meeting Room, 86 West Main Street Merrimac, MA.

Applications to be reviewed must be submitted by 10:00 AM on the deadline date to be heard at the next scheduled meeting. Please notify the Conservation Agent when the filing will be at Town Hall.

Site walks during the fall and winter months when the hours of daylight are short are typically held Saturday mornings. Site walks during the spring and summer months when the hours of daylight are long are typically held during the evening the week before the meeting date. Site visits are occasionally scheduled during the meeting as well. The Conservation Agent will confirm the date and time that your site walk has been scheduled for.

The Merrimac Conservation Commission reserves the right to further alter this meeting schedule as needed.

Please use the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection website to access the most current versions of the state wetlands permitting forms and any associated instructions.

Please also refer the Merrimac Conservation Commission’s instructions & local fees which are in addition to any state instructions and fees.

Per 310 CMR, “notice of the time and place of the public meeting shall be given by the conservation commission at the expense of the person making the request not less than five days prior to such meeting, by publication in a newspaper of general circulation in the city or town in which the land is located.
