Town of Merrimac Shares Information on 2024 Town Election

MERRIMAC — The Town of Merrimac and Town Clerk Gwendolyn Lay Sabbagh share the following information about the 2024 Town Election, and encourage all registered voters to cast their ballots.

Polls are open on Monday, May 6, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., at the Merrimac Public Library, 86 West Main St.

In Person Early Voting will be available from Monday, April 29 to Thursday, May 2, 10am – 2pm at the Merrimac Town Hall located at 2 School St, Merrimac.

Vote By Mail Ballots must be received by the close of polls Monday, May 6, 2024.

Residents can check their registration status on the website of the Secretary of State.

Under Bill H. 4097, the Select Board will increase from three to five members following the Town Election. To expand the Board, the top vote-getter will win a three-year term, the second-place finisher will win a two-year term, and the third-place finisher will fill a one-year term. This change means that two members’ terms will expire in 2025 and 2026, and one member’s term will expire in 2027.
