Inspectional Services/Planning Board Administrative Assistant

Town of Merrimac is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Inspectional Services/Planning Board Administrative Assistant. The Administrative Coordinator position is responsible for administrative and professional work, while assisting the Building Commissioner in the planning and managing of the overall operation of the Inspection Services Department. Responsible for ensuring organizational effectiveness for the ISD Office.

Rate of Pay for ISD Planning position: $24.53 for 29 hours

Wastewater Treatment Operator-Laborer

The Merrimac Massachusetts Wastewater Treatment Facility is seeking a candidate for the full- time position of Wastewater Operator/Laborer. This position requires that the successful candidate possess or have the willingness to obtain a Grade 4M Massachusetts Wastewater Operator License. On the job training will be provided to the candidate. Candidate will also be encouraged to obtain a Collections System Certification.

Wastewater Treatment Operator-laborer Position rate of pay $26.65-33.67 based on experience.

Seasonal Cemetery Laborer

Town of Merrimac is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Seasonal Cemetery Laborer. This position is a part-time, 20 hours per week position, May thru September. The purpose of this position is to assist in keeping the Town cemeteries maintained, and performing manual work assisting the Cemetery with projects as needed. Performs all other related work as required. The Seasonal Cemetery Laborer is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under the direction of the Cemetery Trustees. The primary duties and responsibilities of the cemetery laborer is to maintain the buildings and grounds of the cemeteries within the Town of Merrimac.

Preferred candidate will have a High school Diploma; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of cemetery procedures and maintenance. Ability to follow detailed oral and written instructions given by supervisor. The employee is required to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions for long periods of time and to drive heavy equipment for long periods of time during all types of weather conditions.
