2024-2025 Trash and Recycling Pickup Calendar
Merrimac’s trash pickup is weekly on Fridays. Town trash bags purchased at local retailers must be used.
Recycling is on Fridays, bi-weekly by street. The trash/recycling calendar and street list are available on the website under recycling, or at the Selectmen’s Office.

Details
For residents eligible for municipal trash collection. Multi-unit apartment dwellings over 6 units, private developments, and trailer park units are not eligible for trash pickup.
Cost is $2.00 for each 15 gallon bag, weighing up to 15 pounds and $4.00 for each 35 gallon bag, weighing up to 40 pounds. Recycling collection does not require a bag. The more you recycle, the more you save. Only the town issued blue colored bags will be picked up.
All trash bags must be tied and containers covered to prevent litter. Non-conforming trash bags such as non-conforming color bag, over weight limits, yard waste, demolition or hazardous materials will be left at curbside and will be the responsibility of residents. Illegal disposal or burning of trash will result in a fine as per Merrimac’s bylaw.
Trash should be placed at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on the morning of collection, and not before 6 p.m. on the evening prior to collection.
MISSED PICK-UP
Please have trash and recycling out at the curb by 6:30 a.m. the day of collection. Drivers, weather, and schedules are subject to change. For recycling please check the schedule and make sure you have the correct week. Please call Casella with any issues at 1-800-445-1318.
Weather Delays
In the event of inclement weather, collection may be delayed a day.
