[ARCHIVED] Voluntary Water Ban in Place

conserve water

Although the following rules are not mandatory this year, water conservation is always a good plan.

Watering of lawns and shrubs is limited to odd / even days only (based on house address) between the hours of 7 p.m. and 7 a.m.

Washing of sidewalks, patios and driveways is prohibited (excluding businesses for safety / health reasons).

Water Conservation Suggestions

Residents and visitors are urged to comply with these voluntary measures and conserve water whenever possible. Some suggestions for water conservation are:

Install water saving devices such as flow restrictors on faucets, low-flow shower heads and toilet tank savers. FREE water conservation kits containing these devices will be available at the Town Hall Utilities Division (supply is limited - one kit per household).

Allow grass to grow longer - taller grass shades itself, is healthier and requires less water.

Water grass less frequently, but deeply - roots grow deeper and grass is healthier.

Check toilets for leaks - place a few drops of food coloring in the tank; if the color shows up in the bowl the tank mechanism needs repair.
