The Town of Merrimac owns 17 acres on Emery Street that were originally acquired to serve as additional athletic fields for the community. Unfortunately, the lack of reliable well water at the site made it impossible to maintain grass playing fields in the sandy soil. After several years of little use, the Open Space Committee is circulating a survey to gather residents’ ideas on potential future uses for the property. What might you like to see and do there?
