Fiber Internet Committee

Merrimac to get fiber optic internet provider

At the September 12th 2022 Board of Selectmen's meeting, the board approved a cable franchise agreement with Breezeline which is a regional cable provider. They will be offering internet/cable/phone service over fiber optics. The internet speed will be symmetrical and their top speed will be 1000 Mbps down/1000 Mbps up. They should have the whole town wired within 18 months. In the past few months Breezeline has also negotiated franchise agreements with Salisbury, Amesbury and Haverhill.
