Merrimac Old Home Days 2020 is Cancelled

The Merrimac Old Home Days committee has been actively monitoring the situation with COVID-19 and the impact it will have on our beloved community tradition in August. Given the still uncertain outlook and likely slow reopening of communities, we have made the decision to cancel Merrimac Old Home Days 2020 to ensure the safety of our entire community.

We are still exploring ways to honor the tradition of Old Home Days virtually this year and have a few fun things coming your way, stay tuned! And we can’t wait to be back at Stevens Field in August 2021!

We are fortunate to live in a community full of spirit, parades and virtual celebrations! Enjoy this extended family time and please continue to stay safe.

About Old Home Days
According to the New England Historical Society, "the birth of the celebration (of Old Home Days) can be traced to one man: Frank Rollins, who set in motion the first Old Home Days – 44 of them, all in New Hampshire – in 1899." We are lucky that here in Merrimac, we are part of this rich New England tradition with our very own Old Home Days celebration.

Merrimac Old Home Days takes place the 2nd weekend in August each year.  This free event offers fun for the whole family with kids games and activities, food and crafts for sale, an outdoor movie night, one of the largest bonfires in the area and more! Please see our full event schedule for details (coming soon for 2018!).
